Ace Adventures & Development are a development company who utilise the outdoor environment to develop skills for life. Such skills are transferrable through the key stages of education, into further education and eventually the work place. The attributes gained are taught in such a way that will coincide with skills and qualities taught in the classroom.

We have over 20 years experience within the field of outdoor adventure and development experiences. Our programs use a mixture of challenging activities and environments along with delivering quality theories, development tools and techniques.

Ian Richardson
Managing Director and Senior Instructor
Ian Richardson has spearheaded the evolution and growth of Ace Adventures and Development over the last few years. Founded mostly from his experience and expertise within the outdoor education environment, Ian has brought 25 years experience working alongside communities and schools on various projects and youth development programs. Ian is also a front line paramedic for the NHS.
Ian has numerous qualifications to support his experience in managing multi activity programs and critical incidents, delivering positive outcomes.

Ace Adventure Instructors
Ace Adventure instructors are all highly experienced and appropriately qualified in the outdoor activity and development field. They possess appropriate national governing body qualifications when delivering in appropriate fields. We pride ourselves on the ongoing training and development offered to all of our instructors. They have all been inducted by Ace Adventures and are fully aware of risk assessments, policies, procedures and practice.
Each member of the Ace Adventure & Developments staff are personally assessed by Ian Richardson who takes sole responsibility for selecting and employing them. All staff members are subject to an enhanced CRB check.
Ian is passionate about employing the right people to deliver the right programs. Consequently Ace Adventures prides itself on employing excellent instructing staff.

Ace Adventure's programmes are all student led. Thats not to say we sit back and rest our feet, you will always find one of our professional instructers supervising and challenging the group. We enable all participants to develop thier characters by taking on responsibility and working as part of a team. This is reinforced through team reviewing led by the pupils and reflective learning.
Our ethos runs throughout our portfolio. We like to challenge students taking part in our programmes by giving them responsibility, encouraging them to take ownership, and to learn new skills. Student benefits are numerous and the life skills we teach are transferable - they can be utilised back at school or in the home environment, as well as in the great outdoors.
